TX Logistik launches new transalpine shuttle for Nothegger and Fröhlich

Regular service of the cargo railway TX Logistik links Northern Hesse with Hall in Tyrol and Verona in Italy:

The rail transport company TX Logistik launched a new liner service on the rail from Northern Hesse to Italy, with a stopover in Tyrol. The combined transport “shuttle“ is operated three times per week between the cargo transport centre Kassel and Verona, including a stopover in Hall, Tyrol. The Austrian station and Verona offer feeder services to further connections towards southern Italy.

The new offer is based on cooperation with the Austrian company Nothegger Transport Logistik and the forwarding company Frölich Internationale Transporte from Hessisch Lichtenau. As the main users of this route the two companies transport food, groupage cargo and industrial goods. The partnership shall guarantee for a successful operation of the transport service.

The trains offer a capacity for ten trailers and 24 wide-body swap trailers per course. This way 9,800 truck trips are taken off the alpine roads per year – this means a CO2-reduction of 18,500 tons. The cargo trains driven with multicurrent locomotives cover the 900 kilometres in about 17 hours. After construction works are completed and Brenner route is opened again in September, TX Logistik wants to increase the number of departures in Kassel and Verona to five per week.
