Unitcargo forwarding opens branch in Sofia

New location of Unitcargo forwarding company in Bulgaria shall improve truck transport to the Caucasus states:

As to improve its truck transportations from Europe to destinations in the Caucasus states, the Vienna-based forwarding company Unitcargo Speditions Ges.m.b.H. inaugurates a location in Sofia. “The branch in Bulgaria’s capital will start operating on 15 November with ten employees and a 500 m² throughput warehouse“, says managing director Mag. Davor Sertic in the interview with the Austrian bilingual logistics paper LogEASTics.

Unitcargo opens this branch in Sofia in response to cargo capacity becoming scarcer on relations from northern, western and central Europe to destinations in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The aim of this measure is to secure high service quality on the long term, in line with competitive advantages on the routes to Caucasus. In future part loads from all over Europe will be consolidated in Sofia to single-destination full-loads. Davor Sertic emphasises on the vast offer of international transport companies in Bulgaria who have many years of experience in traffic with Caucasus as a major advantage of this model.

As specialist for truck loads the Unitcargo forwarding company handles more than 10.000 truck loads in 2011. The main trade lanes are transport routes within the European Union, operations from/to and within the Balkans as well as transportations from/to Turkey and the neighbouring countries in Caucasus and the Middle East (e.g.: Iran, Iraq, Syria). The enterprise has 24 employees at locations in Vienna, Nové Zámky (Slovakia) and Istanbul, and will achieve a turnover of more than EUR 10 million this year.

The November edition of the LogEASTics paper will feature a detailed report on the Unitcargo forwarding enterprise.
