UPS adds 101 locations in China to spare parts logistics-network

The globally acting provider of express services and supply chain solutions UPS starts a big expansion project in China. The enterprise has announced its plans to considerably expand its worldwide spare parts logistics-network (SPL). In this context 101 new Field Stocking Locations, FSL are planned to be set up in China.

China has a leading role fort he growth strategy of companies from around the globe. Our area-covering regional and global FSL network supports them with modern aftermarket solutions in Asia", says Brad Mitchell, President UPS Logistics and Distribution.

By expanding to more than 110 FSLs UPS will cover 89 important cities in China in the future. Particularly companies from various sectors that require delivery of important spare parts on the same or following work day, will profit from the announced expansion of the FSL network. These industrial sectors are e.g. high-tech/electronics, medical technology as aviation and space travel.

With more than 950 FSLs in 120 countries the SPL network of UPS is the world’s largest today. The service portfolio comprises the handling of urgent spare parts orders, including procurement, warehousing and spare parts management around the globe, returns and recycling management as well as spare parts and inventory planning.
