Waberer’s improves its results in the first six months 2012

London Olympics let Waberer’s freight commissions to Great-Britain soar

Waberer’s International Zrt. headquartered in Budapest has reached its target set for the first six months of the year 2012: Sales revenues have surpassed EUR 185 million. Despite the economical difficulties of both the Hungarian and European freight market the company’s EBDITA neared EUR 21 million, which meant an 11% growth compared to the same time period in 2011. The company spent EUR 27 million on fleet infrastructure – adding 86 truck-trailers equipped with the newest technologies according to EURO5 norm – and EUR 1.5 million on other investments – for example information technology.

Along with the increase in the number of vehicles, the number of completed freight kilometers and the average number of staff rose as well. The truck-trailer fleet has completed over 147.5 million kilometers on the roads of Europe, 6 million more than last year. Freight efficiency closed on 2 billion tonnne-kilometers, as the company announces in its half-year report.

The company has created over 200 new workplaces in the first six month of 2012, while decreasing the number of administrative staff per truck-trailer. Primarily in the FMCG logistics sector, Waberer’s registered growth in  freight commissions to Great-Britain in the months leading up to the London Olympics. A great part of the freight goods were preserved foods, home electronics and car parts.

The service range of Waberer’s includes all areas of logistics, from road transport through warehouse logistics and vehicle repairs. The Hungarian company has subsidiaries in Poland, Germany, Romania, Spain and Slovakia. Its fleet of 2,500 trucks transports 250,000 full truckloads per year. The sales revenue of Waberer’s International was EUR 373 million in 2011.
