Transport and lifting technology specialist Felbermayr boosts its commitment to wind power energy in Eastern Europe

Whereas Austria’s wind power industry is struggling with an amendment of the law on green electricity, the lifting and transport enterprise Felbermayr puts a focus on countries in Eastern Europe. Having successfully implemented projects in Bulgaria and Romania, the company is taking the next step to Ukraine, as Ing. Mag. Peter Stöttinger, managing director of Felbermayr Transport- und Hebetechnik GmbH & Co KG, disclosed at a press conference on wind power, in Vienna. However, he also sees motion in the Austrian market again for the current year 2011.

Ing. Mag. Peter Stöttinger: „In the 1990s we have made our first experiences in setting up wind power facilities in Austria; we experienced the wind power boom in 2000, before the general economic crisis came and raw material prices and power tariffs skyrocketed. Today we are operating all across Europe.“

The enterprise based in Wels, Upper Austria, operates 47 branches in 14 European countries and employs a total of 1,800 staff. Thereof about 50 persons are employed in the wind energy sector. Demand for crane rental is given from the establishment of a wind power facility, to maintenance works and the so-called dismantling of the facilities.
