Wincanton opens second location in Switzerland

Wincanton, a leading transport and logistics provider, is expanding its network in Europe. A new location in the Swiss city of Schaffhausen near the German border was just opened. Including the location in Basel, Wincanton has now two gates for general cargo transports in the Swiss Confederation which allows a better connection to the German road network.

“The successful development of Wincanton in Switzerland, the importance of eastern Switzerland as an economic area and in particular our traffic with Germany were the reasons for this step“, said Gerold Hohwieler, Regional Director Wincanton Schweiz AG, about the opening of the new location. Furthermore he added: “This represents another important step in expanding the European network.”
All logistics services are offered from one source – at the new location in Schaffhausen. The services are ranging from general cargo, part and full load traffics with Europe, to overseas container, project and facility transports. A facility of about 1,200 square metres providing the option of further expanding the area, is available for services in the fields of handling and distribution. Wincanton operates the daily transport services to eastern Switzerland now via Schaffhausen. Previously these services were operated at the locations in Heilbronn, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Mannheim and Schömberg.
