ADR 2009 obligatory as from 1 July

Transition period for ADR 2009 to end shortly

The regulations and provisions of the ADR 2009, the transportation of dangerous goods on the road, will be obligatory in Austria as of July 1, 2009. Gerhard Niederleitner, dangerous goods safety advisor of the international forwarding company Billitz in Gallbrunn (Lower Austria), calls attention to this fact in a letter to customers and business customers. “The transition period for the implementation of ADR 2009 for the forwarding of dangerous goods will end per June 31, 2009,“ he adds.

The new ADR will have just one directive for all classes. The system used until now will become obsolete. The delivery obligation is on part of the forwarder as of July 1, 2009 at latest, and no longer with the loader or chargers.
