C.S.Cargo Group becomes CEE carrier of Tesco

Global retail chain Tesco chooses the C.S.Cargo Group as its carrier from Prague to Hungary and Slovakia

Retail segment leader Tesco has choosen the C.S.Cargo Group, a Central European service provider in logistics and transport, as its carrier. The company won out over the competition thanks to its range of services, logistics know-how and cost effectiveness.

Tesco uses C.S.Cargo as strategic partner for secondary distribution. Michal Petráček, Primary Account Manager for Tesco Stores ČR: “Tesco sees C.S.Cargo as its strategic partner primarily because of its flexibility and attention to the customer. We value their effort to find the best approach to everyday operations and their special treatment of important clients” He went on to say: “When choosing our partners, high quality service and financial stability are the important criteria and C.S.Cargo meets both of them.”

The C.S.Cargo Group provides Tesco with transport services for a wide range of chilled and staple foods and consumer goods. Moreover, it has become an important link in Tesco’s new Prague Hub project, which involves the transport of goods from the warehouse in Prague to Hungary and Slovakia for its key customer, Procter & Gamble. In terms of volume, this means the dispatch of 6 to 20 loaded vehicles daily to one destination. Michal Petráček added: “The Prague Hub project is one of the reasons why Tesco chose a strong transport partner that can offer us the necessary flexibility.”

The partnering of the Central European logistics and transport leader with a major enterprise like Tesco came about thanks to the carrier’s superior ability to meet the client’s needs. The C.S.Cargo Group has a new, extensive vehicle fleet that complies with the most stringent  ecological standards.  Furthermore, it is able to flexibly and reliably provide transport in a volume far exceeding the capabilities of smaller companies. Cooperation with such major companies has made the C.S.Cargo Group the leader among Central European carriers.

C.S.Cargo operates through its subsidiaries in four countries in Central Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany) and in Russia. It is the region’s leading provider of road, air and sea transport and comprehensive logistics services. The group’s customer portfolio includes major companies from many industrial sectors (automotive, food and beverages, construction and building, electronics and consumer goods). The group currently has more than 2,200 employees overall and 1,200 in the Czech Republic.
