Cost savings at DSV Group

 
Danish DSV Group cuts up to 1,500 jobs

As a measure to maintain operative margins at an appealing level, the Management of the Danish DSV Group is aiming to save costs. Until the end of this year the staff shall be reduced from currently about 24,000 to around 22,500 employees. This was announced by the Management at the presentation of the balance sheet of 2008.

At the DSV Group the financial year 2008 was formed by the takeover of the activities of ABX Logistics. The transaction effected an increase in turnover of 36 per cent to DKK 13.5 billion in the Air & Sea division. The sales revenues of the “Road“-division showed a slight decline compared to 2007, to DKK 19.8 billion. The “Solution“-division showed a revenue of DKK 5.2 billion on the balance sheet 2008. All three divisions have operatively clearly gone into the black. In total DSV Group achieved a turnover of DKK 37 billion, while the EBIT amounted to DKK 1.936 billion in 2008.
