CTS received AEO-certificate

Container Terminal Salzburg takes leading role in terms of security

Since recently Container Terminal Salzburg (CTS) has an advantage in international competition. The company is the first Austrian container terminal for combined road/rail transport to successfully finish the AEO-certification. “This is an advantage in terms of simplified handling of the terminal services combined with simpler processes concerning security and customs legislation and privileges at inspections“, as the CombiNet-association, a network for combined traffic, announced in a press release.

The abbreviation AEO stands for Authorized Economic Operator. AOE companies are certificated as particularly trustworthy business partners within the delivery chain, and are obliged to respect EU and US security standards and to participate in the anti-terrorism partnership.

Container Terminal Salzburg serves as a hub for container traffics and offers a big range of services for globally acting shipping lines, freight forwarding companies and transportation service providers. The enterprise was established in 1980 and has been owned by M. Kaindl Holzindustrie since 2001. The main activities are container handling with rail daily connections to the most important ports and economic centres in Europe and operation of an empty and full container depot.
