Dachser Food Logistics sets up new structures in Austria

Dachser Food Logistics enters partnership with Brummer Logistik in the temperature-controlled transport service segment to and from Austria

Dachser’s food logistics department forms new organisational structures to serve Austria and terminates its partnership with Frigologo. From 1 May 2011 the internationally operating logistics provider will enter an exclusive partnership with Brummer Logistik GmbH to provide temperature-controlled transport services to and from Austria.

National and European transports of ambient foodstuffs will be handled via its own organization. “In order to meet all food regulatory requirements, the European Logistics and Food Logistics business segments within Dachser’s Austrian branches have been separated both physically and in terms of IT.“, the enterprise announces in a press release.

The cooperation with the partner Frigologo will be terminated with effect from 30 April 2011. Dachser Food Logistics explains that it was unable to reach agreement on a joint strategic orientation in Europe – especially in Eastern Europe.

Founded in 1977 with headquarters in Neuburg am Inn, near Passau, family-run Brummer Logistik employs a staff of 200 and has its own fleet of 100 modern refrigerated trucks. An ideal geographical location at the German-Austrian border permits significantly improved shipment times in both directions of traffic, as Dachser states. Dachser and Brummer customers alike will additionally benefit from both companies’ high distribution quality in the respective target country. Brummer Logistik complies with all requirements of the IFS Logistic and EU directives on food safety, such as traceability, HACCP and temperature documentation.
