DB Schenker Salzburg changed its top management

DB Schenker: Robert Hartmann moves up to management level of the Salzburg office – Friedrich Hofinger is to head the marketing of rail traffic in Austria

A personnel change took place at the Salzburg office of DB Schenker. Since October 2010, the management duo consists of Walter Mönichweger and Robert Hartmann. Mr. Hartmann, who has taken over from Friedrich Hofinger, will be primarily responsible for overland transport by truck. In addition he will also control the development of sea freight activities. Walter Mönichweger pulls the string for air freight, rail transport, contract logistics and customs handling in the management of DB Schenker in Salzburg.

In his new function, Friedrich Hofinger will concentrate on the expansion of rail traffic all across Austria. His main area of responsibility is the development and marketing of innovative rail concepts as well as the management of the Pulp & Paper centre of excellence.

Born in Salzburg, the trained logistics manager Robert Hartmann (34) began his career at Schenker in Salzburg in the area of sea freight import/export back in 1997. In 1999, he briefly worked for Salewa, a company dealing in mountaineering articles and clothing. In 2000, however, his path led back to Schenker & Co AG in Salzburg, where after a year as group manager he was promoted to sea freight manager.
