DB Schenker serves mega sports event
These days DB Schenker sets another milestone in sports logistics. The Czech affiliate of the globally acting transport and logistics group is the “Official logistics partner of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec”. Between February 18 and March 1, the company will support teams and stars in the disciplines cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined. The organising committee awarded the contract to DB Schenker also because of its numerous reference sports logistics projects – ranging from the Olympic Games to the European Football Championship 2008. DB Schenker is charged with transportation and storing the athletes’ equipment in a warehouse in Liberec. This is the task of the staff of DB SCHENKERsportsevents. “The logistics for this event is a real challenge, because the access roads require the use of four-wheel-driven vehicles, to reach the competition location“, said Tomas Holomoucky, Managing Director of Schenker spol. s. r.o. in Prague.
