DFDS group streamlines its brand portfolio

Finalisation of takeover of Norfolkline helps DFDS to form one of the largest sea transport networks in Europe

Having finalized the takeover of Norfolkline from the A.P. Moller-Maersk group, the Danish DFDS group clears up its brand portfolio. In future the parent company will offer nothing but the two brand names DFDS Seaways and DFDS Logistics.

DFDS Seaways comprises all passenger shipping routes and the related terminals. Road, rail and container transport activities will all be carried out under the name DFDS Logistics. The names DFDS Tor Line, DFDS Lisco, DFDS Lys Line, DFDS Seaways, Speedcargo and Halléns are to fall out of the portfolio.

The new DFDS group forms one of the biggest sea transport networks with freight and passenger lines in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the Irish Sea and the Channel, as well as with transport solutions for road and rail in wide parts of Europe. Having integrated the Norfolkline DFDS employs around 6,000 persons and operates a fleet of 63 vessels. The annual turnover amounts to around EUR 11 billion Danish krones.
