DPD Austria parcel service continues to drive for SodaStream

Producer of soda makers SodaStream renews logistics agreement with DPD Austria for three more years
 
The producer of soda makers SodaStream renews its cooperation agreement with DPD Austria. The parcel service is to supply retailers and end-customers with gas cylinders, syrups and other products of the company for three more years. SodaStream turns tap water into sparkling water at the push of a button. Adding syrups makes coke, lemonades and other soft drinks.
 
DPD is in charge of shipping parcels for SodaStream on a daily basis. In 2012 the volume has risen by 79 per cent year-on-year. “We are delivering SodaStream products to an increasing number of end customers and retailers“, says Rainer Schwarz, managing director DPD.
 
SodaStream based in Limburg/Germany has been using DPD Austria’s storage, picking and shipping services since 2010. The DPD depot in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna serves as an „outsourced location/warehouse“ of the company in Austria. “In DPD we found a logistics partner who is able to handle every shipment solution we need for our products“, says Hanoch Rosenberg, global logistics manager SodaStream.
 
With respect to sustainability the cooperation of the two enterprises covers also returns logistics. Supported by the logistics expert primetime, DPD exchanges empty gas cylinders against charged cylinders at SodaStream distribution points, and sends the empty goods to the SodaStream headquarters in Germany via the DPD system.
 
DPD Austria based in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna is the leading parcel service in Austria. The enterprise provides services for national and international parcel distribution. About 1,500 employees across the nation are operating a fleet of 900 vehicles, handling about 38.5 million parcels in 2012.
