In the middle of the week ECT and Kombiverkehr gave the starting signal for the “Betuwe-Express”. The train, which called at the Duisburg Ruhrort Hafen DUSS three times a week, is now operated between the ECT-terminals in Rotterdam Maasvlakte and the hinterland terminal DeCeTe in Duisburg with immediate effect. The new offer is based on the direct combined transport train between Duisburg and Rotterdam, which had been introduced in 2006.

The reinforced service allows to directly forward containers from the Rotterdam Maasvlakte to the European hinterland and back. From Duisburg containers are forwarded to more than 70 terminals in Europe, like to Poland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Turkey and back.
