The list of strategic partnerships of big container shipping companies on the routes between Asia on the one hand, and the major ports in the Mediterranean Sea and on the North European continent on the other hand has gained a facet. On 28 December the Taiwanese Evergreen Line and the members of CKYH Alliance (Coscon/China, “K“ Line/Japan, Yang Ming/Taiwan, Hanjin Shipping/South Korea) announced the enhancement of their cooperation effective second quarter 2012. In this context Evergreen Line confirmed to continue its cooperation with China Shipping on certain routes and excludes becoming a member of the CKYH Group.

The future schedule of Evergreen Line comprises eight liner services on the Asia Northern Europe trade and four loops linking Asia and the Mediterranean. The services are operated with vessels providing capacities from 8,000 to 13,000 TEU. All concerned parties are striving to increase the frequencies through this cooperation and offer an enhanced port coverage as well as shorter transit times.
