Expanded gateway of DB Schenker in Milan

New terminal for land transport and more capacity for air/ocean freight at Schenker Italia location in Milan

Schenker Italiana S.p.A. has considerably expanded their capacities in greater Milan. At the beginning of this week the land transport activities moved to a new gateway in Peschiera Borromeo. The new hub provides more than 11,000 sq. m. warehousing area with state-of-the-art technology and safety systems. All 53 loading docks are equipped with hydraulic ramps. The facility is to run more than 22,000 national and international shipments a month.

The new land transport terminal creates additional space dedicated to air and ocean forwarding activities. The ocean freight hub in Peschiera Borromeo will be relocated to the former land transport building with its 4,700 sq.m. warehouse and 48 loading bays. The air freight import gateway will move to the former ocean freight building, taking over 3,500 sq. m. of warehouse space and 28 loading bays. The corporate office, the air freight export gateway and the fairs & exhibitions department will remain in their present building, with 5,500 sq. m. warehouse space.
