FedEx offers later collection time for western Austria with immediate effect
Improvement of FedEx Express’ flight schedule on the Munich – Paris route upgrades the service for companies in western Austria
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has been operating a Boeing 757 aircraft between Munich and Paris since end of February, forming the basis for a better service offering in western Austria. Customers from this regions now benefit from later pick-up times of up to one hour for shipments destined for Europe or Asia weighing up to 68 kilograms. Additionally, heavy import shipments with low values from Europe or Asia are faster delivered. Transit time is reduced by one working day. Moreover, transit times for heavy weight shipments from western Austria to worldwide destinations weighing between 68 and 1,000 kilograms are faster by one working day. This reorganisation enables companies to send their shipments within one working day to Europe and the US East Coast, and within two working days to Asia. “We are continually working to enhance our services. Our new B757 flight between Munich and Paris provides western Austria with a faster connection to key global markets. Export-oriented industries such as vehicle and machines manufacturing, processed goods and the production of chemicals help the regions reap significant competitive advantages in international business,” says Ingmar Bergman, managing director Field Sales Germany & Austria at FedEx Express. The B757aircraft flies four times a week from Munich to the FedEx hub in Paris, which acts as the European hub for the company’s worldwide network. The Munich – Cologne route, which has been served to date with an Airbus A310, has also been served by a B757 since end of February.
