Gebrüder Weiss opens cross-docking terminal in Sibiu

Central location of the cross terminal in Sibiu offers GW customers better options for general cargo distribution in Romania

 

A few days ago Gebrüder Weiss (GW) has started operating its new cross-docking terminal in Sibiu. The location built with a total investment of more than EUR 2.2 million marks according to the enterprise a strategic step in the development process of the Gebrüder Weiss network in Romania. In a press release the Management announces further investments for the next years. The target thereof is to distinguish in the market with excellent services.

The terminal with 1,000 sq. m. throughput space in Sibiu features state-of the-art fire prevention and security systems. ”By building a new terminal, we are able to meet Gebrüder Weiss’ expanding demands in Romania and to improve our domestic network. Due to its central location, the Sibiu station is perfectly suitable,” says Thomas Moser, Regional Manager South-East Europe. „The new terminal, including the parking spaces and buildings, has a total surface of 9,000 m² as well as 20,000 m² of reserve space,“ he adds.

Gebrüder Weiss has been serving the Romanian market for 16 years with an own local enterprise. 170 employees (15 of them in Sibiu) headed by Viorel Leca are currently operating around 12.000 sq. m. of warehousing capacity. Tailor-made first class logistics solutions are the basis for the great number of their regular clients, as the company states.
