Geis grpup inaugurates new logistics terminal in Kürnach near Würzburg

New building strengthens the Geis grpup’s market position as a full-service logistics provider in Franconia

On 10 October the internationally active Geis group officially inaugurated its new logistics terminal in Kürnach near Würzburg. Geis has invested 5.8 million Euros in the terminal and created 40 new jobs. The 7,800m² facility has been constructed right next to the group’s freight terminal.

In the new building the company implements contract logistics solutions for major clients. Geis now takes care of Kitzingen-based fashion label Drykorn’s entire logistics at Kürnach, from goods inwards through quality control, warehousing and picking & packing, to dispatch. The contract logistics solutions for packaging specialists Antalis Packaging for example, whose palettes were previously spread across the freight terminal and the external warehouses, are now all bundled in the new terminal.

The new facility in Kürnach has a high bay area with 8,400 pallet spaces, flexibly-sized picking and handling areas, and a shelving area. Trucks can access the facility through nine loading and unloading bays and a ground-floor access bay.
