Hellmann takes over Augsburg forwarding company from Honold
Honold Logistik group sells forwarding company in Augsburg to longstanding partner Hellmann Worldwide Logistics
Effective January 1, 2014 Honold Logistik group sells their Augsburg-based forwarding company to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. Honold Contract Logistik, Augsburg and Honold Night Star Express, Augsburg as well as Honold Spedition, Neu-Ulm are not affected. Honold Night Star Express and Hellmann will use the property of the Honold Logistik group. Through this takeover of the office in Augsburg Hellmann Worldwide Logistics strengthens the development of the general cargo business in Germany.
The acquisition is conditional, since the regulatory approval, is still pending. All carrier employees at the Augsburg site are taken over according to law (§ 613a BGB). Honold will expand its presence in Augsburg in the areas Honold Contract Logistik and Night Star Express.
„The Honold Logistik group has grown in 2013 to around 100,000 m² of logistics space and has invested over EUR 40 million. We expect in 2013, an encouraging result. The sale of Augsburg is a strategically consistent decision of the strong growth,“ says Heiner Matthias Honold, Managing Partner of Honold Logistik group.
Honold has deliberately chosen Hellmann, as both companies have been working together for decades. Heiner Matthias Honold: „We felt it was important, especially for the Honold forwarding location in Neu-Ulm, that our cooperation and the network will be strengthened as a whole and an owner-managed company with similar corporate culture, takes over the employees in Augsburg. Honold Spedition will continue to invest in Neu-Ulm in the area and has among others integrated Lebert Erbach in New Ulm. “
Klaus Hellmann, Managing Director of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, adds: „We are excited about the future growth in the Hellmann-organisation. This further strengthens our cargo network in Germany. “
