Hellmann Worldwide Logistics takes over Spedition Kunze

Kunze forwarding company with 470 employees in Bielefeld, Dresden and Karlsruhe slips under the umbrella of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics
 
With retroactive effect from 1 January 2013 the logistics group Hellmann Worldwide Logistics takes over Spedition Kunze including all subsidiaries at the locations in Bielefeld, Dresden and Karlsruhe (Karlsdorf) and including all properties. The Kunze forwarding company employs 470 persons. Together with its sister company S+L Spedition, which is specialising in sea freight and project forwarding, the company generated annual turnover of EUR 82 million lately. The acquisition is subject to the approval by the competition authority. Both parties agreed to keep the purchase agreement and its content confidential.
 
With the aim of further developing their business Spedition Kunze has been looking for a partner with global positioning and offers future perspectives for the company, the customers and employees. With respect to progressing globalisation it is decisive to strengthen the European and global networks, thus the company merges with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
 
This area extension to the south-west suits well into Hellmann’s strategic concept. The branches in Wittlich, Polch, Neunkirchen and Nieder-Olm will be boosted and complemented by the location in Karlsruhe. Also strengthening the position in the regions Bielefeld and Dresden has strategic importance to the expansion of the logistics service provider from Osnabrück. This boosts also general cargo business throughout Germany.
