Helogistics acquires majority holding in Transcanal SRL (RO)

Romanian river shipping company Transcanal SRL enhances CEE-portfolio of Helogistics Holdings GmbH in Vienna:

Through a company acquisition Helogistics Holding (Vienna) consolidates its position as a supplier of waterway transportations on the Danube in south-eastern Europe. In a press release the enterprise announced the acquisition of a majority holding in the Romanian river shipping company Transcanal SRL from Ister Grain Carriers SRL through Erste Donau Dampfschifffahrts GmbH (EDDSG). After completion of the transaction Helogistics Holding GmbH will hold about 77.6 per cent of the share capital of the company based in Constanza.

Helogistics Holding, the parent company of Erste Donau-Dampfschiffahrts GmbH and Mahart Duna Cargo Kft, is active in transport of raw materials as well as semi-finished and finished goods on the 3,500 kilometres waterway between Rotterdam and the Black Sea. The business division dry cargo shipping is dominated by the transport of agricultural products, raw materials, semi-finished goods and containers. Tanker shipping is focussed on mineral oil products. The enterprise runs locations in Vienna, Linz, Regensburg, Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrade, Izmail and Constanza.
