Prangl handles another major project in Vienna

Machines and cranes of the Prangl group made their constribution to the construction of Austria’s highest building:

The lifting technology specialists of Prangl Gesellschaft m.b.H. (based in Brunn am Gebirge, near Vienna) are also involved in the “Vienna DC Towers“-project. The company has been on the construction site from the very beginning. The 280 tons crawler crane, which lifted steel segments weighing up to 12 tons, with a maximum length of 20 metres, for the superstructure of the main entrance, generated the most enthusiasm. Apart from this device with an effective length of 78 metres, 100 to 300 ton class telescopic cranes were used to erect and modify all the construction cranes. Moreover transport vehicles, work platforms and telescopic high lift trucks of Prangl are used at the construction site.

Designed by the star-architect Dominique Perrault, the “Vienna DC Towers“, including the „DC Tower 1“, will be Austria’s highest building. Completion of the project is scheduled for early 2013. The skyscraper will then have more than 60 storeys with a net usable area 73,000 m².
