IMS Vienna acquires majority shares of Interlogistik Hungary

Holding in Interlogistik Hungary opens container operator IMS Vienna access to CEE trucking services under own direction

The expansion of the neutral container operator Intermove Systems Speditions- und Transport GmbH towards Eastern Europe is continuing. Having established locations in Slovakia and in Poland in the year 2010, the enterprise has now also acquired the majority shares of the Hungarian trucking service provider Interlogistik Hungary with its headquarters in Budapest effective from 1 February.

Due to the former associate’s claims on the brand, the company was renamed into IMS Cargo Hungary, whereas contact persons and contact details will remain the same as before. Gábor Zsemlye is to hold the function of the country manager.

„Budapest has been connected to our network via the hub Vienna for a while. We are now able to produce as well the last mile on our own, which will be a benefit for quality standard.“, explains Wolfgang Tomassovich, CEO IMS Vienna.

The Budapest branch with currently 2 employees will be connected to the IT system of the IMS group in the next few days. “This allows smooth and transparent communication between our locations in Vienna, Salzburg, Hamburg, Bratislava, Katovice and Basel, but also with our customers“, as reads a press release.

IMS was established in 1993 as a private container operator and acts as a full service provider with locations in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Switzerland and Hungary as well as with partners around the globe and renders all services associated with combined transport. Employing 50 persons the enterprise handled 120,000 TEU last year and generated a turnover of about EUR 50 million.
