Large-scale acquisition of JCL Logistics in Germany

JCL Logistics takes over 74.9 per cent of the shares of Kraus & Pabst Group

JCL Logistics is expanding to Germany. At the beginning of the month the transport and logistics group based in Werndorf near Graz (Styria) has acquired 74.9 per cent of the shares of the Kraus & Pabst Group, the European market leader in the field of transport and logistics for unpacked large instruments. The sale was settled by the signatures of the previous owners Christian Rohrbacher and Susann Meyer-Rohrbacher and the new owners Stephan Jöbstl and Markus Nill.

Aside from Kraus & Pabst GmbH Internationale Speditionen and their subsidiaries, JCL Logistics takes over Kraus & Pabst Privatkundenlogistik GmbH. Kraus & Pabst Group employs around 300 persons at locations in Lichtenfels, Redwitz and Leipzig. The turnover of 2008 amounted to around EUR 23 million. They offer special solutions for unpacked large instruments, comprehensive services in the fields of national and international forwarding and storage, particularly in the segments of furniture logistics for retailers and end customers, network-based end customer logistics as well as kitchen and removal logistics.

While the former Kraus & Pabst Privatkundenlogistik GmbH will operate under the name JCL Logistics in the future, Kraus & Pabst GmbH Internationale Spedition and their subsidiaries will keep their names. Markus Nill, former Manager of the marketing and company development department and owner of the remaining 25.1 per cent, will assume the Management of Kraus & Pabst Group.
