Less border control in Russian traffic

Customs union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to be settled by the end of November

A new era begins for goods transport from and to Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. The customs union between the three states is to become effective as of 1 January 2010. The three governments will sign the relevant contract on 27 November in Minsk, as the Loxx Group announces in a press release.

Thanks to the customs union the customs control at the border between Russia and Belarus will be ceased as of July 2010. As Kazakhstan has to develop its southern borders at first, border controls at the border with Russia will only be ceased as of January 2011.
