New branch of Dachser Food Logistics in Germany

Dachser Food Logistics opens new location in Koblenz responding to increasing demand for temperature-controlled logistics services

Dachser Food Logistics is expanding its full-coverage logistics network for temperature-controlled food logistics with a new branch office in Koblenz. On a site of 12,000 m², the enterprise has a transit terminal of just under 2,000 m² and 660 m² of office space. 23 trucks can be loaded and unloaded simultaneously there. A staff of 24 will coordinate transshipment and handling processes, while 25 drivers will deliver the consignments and collect fresh goods from customers.

“With the new terminal we are also responding to the continuously rising demand for our services,” explains Mathias Oetter, manager of the Offenbach branch office, who will also be responsible for the new location. “At the same time we are thus relieving pressure on the surrounding food logistics branch offices in Offenbach, Überherrn, Alsdorf and Neuss with respect to incoming tonnages and long distances to suppliers and consignees.” Customers in the catchment area will benefit from later collection times. Located on the A61 and A48 motorways, Dachser is integrating the Koblenz region more closely into its pan-European food logistics network.
