Website www.oemtv.at of „Österreichischer Möbel-Transport-Verbandes“ offers advice in all relocation matters to its customers
The „Österreichischer Möbel-Transport-Verband“ (ÖMTV), the official lobby for all certified relocation providers in Austria has announced the launch of their new website www.oemtv.at. The site contains all relevant information concerning relocation matters and offers advice to customers who are looking "for a professional shipper with fair set prices". The ÖMTV member companies carry out more than 30.000 relocations each year. Their range goes from small household relocations to major overseas contracts.
The new website offers user-friendly member lists where potential "moving parties" can look for the most suitable transport partner close to them depending of the type of relocation (private or company) and destination (national/Europe/global). A short video shows how to correctly pack the goods and how relocation procedures will run smoothly. Besides informaton regarding transport insurance, relocation contract and the regulatory framework, customers will find all kinds of advice regarding this matter.
Due to a number of unpleasant incidents the ÖMTV warns against shady discount offers which seem to offer a real bargain. At the end of the day the customers might find themselves at their new location dealing with the sobering consequences. According to the association one of the main problems are the different forms of business licences and the basic cover they offer the the lack of information the customers have regarding these matters.
"We distinguish between the non-regulated types of businesses, mainly small shippers, usually couriers, the forwarding business as such (interurban and cargo business) and the proper relocation shippers. The latter follow widely recognised certifications and sometimes include collective agreements for ‚packers‘. The basic cover for the customer regarding insurance cover and legal certainty differs considerably", ÖMTV president Manfred Meier points out.
