Österreichische Post is about to integrate Systemlogistik

Österreichische Post wants to enhance its core competence in parcel logistics by taking over Systemlogistik Distribution GmbH

Systemlogistik Distribution GmbH based in Vienna-Strebersdorf is about to change its owner. In a press release Österreichische Post announces its plan to acquire the Austrian fulfilment specialist. Thus the enterprise follows its strategy to enhance its core competence in parcel distribution along the complete value added-chain and to become established in Austria’s contract logistics business, the release reads.

The takeover shall take place by the end of May 2012, on condition of the antitrust approval. Both parties agreed to keep confidential the details about the transaction. "Many reputable Austrian parcel customers show great interest in entering a partnership with us in the field of innovative, value-added logistics services. With the planned acquisition of Systemlogistik GmbH, we will be able to offer this service functions in the future", says Peter Umundum, CEO Parcel & Logistics of the Austrian Post.

Systemlogistik Distribution GmbH offers customised logistics solutions for companies in need of service modules such as web-shop logistics, order processing, warehousing, picking, packing, store supply or returns logistics. The company has two locations in Greater Vienna with approximately 80 people and provides high-quality logistics services to major clients such as Nespresso Austria. Roman Leydolf, founder and previous owner of Systemlogistik, will continue working as Managing Director.

With this acquisition the Post expanded its infrastructure and resources in the newly created business unit "Logistics Solutions". The area managed by Gerald Gregori is dedicated to establishing and developing profitable business segments, such as value-added logistics and fulfillment, offering innovative value-added logistics services in addition to classic parcel business.
