“One stop shop” rail logistics with DB Schenker Railog

DB Schenker reinforces pan-European rail logistics

In response to the growing demand for trans-european rail logistic concepts DB Schenker Logistics Group launches an integrated DB Schenker-Railog service. So the long experience of the former subsidiaries Railog and Fertrans are now combined with the existing rail logistics of the national organisations. Within the frame of the bundled services activities from Sweden to Italy, France to Greece and to Turkey will be coordinated.

DB Schenker Logistics Group presents itself as a logistics partner who offers all processes (pre and on carriage, booking of storage capacities, time schedule for wagons and containers, customs modalities, warehousing services) from one source. Users of the new DB Schenker Railog service are mainly from the consumer electronics, furniture, paper, steel and construction material industry.

As of April 1, 2009, Daniel Wieland assumed responsibility for the European product management of Rail Logistics and Forwarding in land transport of the Schenker AG in Essen. In this segment more than 300 persons are employed at 40 locations in Europe who generates an annual turnover of nearly EUR 500 million.
