Port of Rotterdam striving for a stronger position in Hungary

Emile Hoogsteden: “Hungarian sea freight shall make greater use of the gateway via Rotterdam!”

The Port of Rotterdam is striving for a stronger position in the market for Hungarian sea freight. Emile Hoogsteden, director containers, break bulk and logistics Port of Rotterdam, invited the participants of the Translog Connect Congress 2012 in Budapest to make greater use of the Dutch port area to handle their sea freight in import and export. “We would appreciate to handle your shipments through our port to a greater extent“, the manager said in his speech.

The Port of Rotterdam is implementing this project based on a wide range of hinterland transport on the railway. The companies Hupac Intermodal, IFB, Transpetrol and Metrans are currently operating regular block trains between the seaport terminals in Rotterdam (ECT Euromax, RSC Maasvlakte, RSC Waalhaven) and Hungary.
