Rail Europe places major order with Wabtec Europe
Wabtec Europe (Vienna) provides braking systems for tank wagons valued EUR 15 million to GATX Rail Europe
Wabtec Europe, a subsidiary of Wabtec Corporation (NYSE:WAB), signed an agreement about the provision of braking systems with GATX Rail Europe, a leading European leasing company for tank wagons. The agreement is valid for five years and represents a value of about EUR 15 million.
GATX Rail Europe buys the vehicles from several European suppliers. Wabtec provides braking systems in several categories, including steering valves, brake rigging, brake cylinders, new integrated compact-bogie brakes IBB10 and disk brake units. Wabtec is a global player in the segment of high-tech subsystems, components and services for cargo and passenger transport as well as locomotives. The product portfolio covers electronic train surveillance systems and integrated braking systems, as well as internal and external door systems. Wabtec modernises and secures passenger and cargo transport and maintains vehicle fleets. Wabtec Europe GmbH in Vienna coordinates the activities in the European market.
