Shipping company CMA CGM grades up Vietnam in its route network

CMA CGM integrates the Vietnamese deep water port Cai Mep into its FAL3 service from Asia to Northern Europe

The economic uptrend of Vietnam is also taken into account for the schedules of international shipping companies. The French company CMA CGM is another actor to introduce a port in the emerging Asian country into its routing of direct services from the Far East to Northern Europe. Operated with 10 vessels, each 8,500 to 9,500 TEU, the FAL3 service is to call the new deep water port Cai Mep once per week from 9 November. Via feeder transport there are links to the smaller ports Haiphong, Danang and Qui Nhon.

The FAL3 service covers the following port rotation: Qingdao, Ningbo, Chiwan, Nansha, Yantian, Cai Mep, Port Kelang, Malta, Le Havre, Dunkirk, Zeebrugge, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Southampton, Beirut, Jeddah, Port Kelang and Qingdao. It is one of ten strings operated by CMA CGM, offering direct weekly services between 26 ports in Asia and ten stations in Europe.
