Slight increase of Austrian Lufthansa Cargo’s market share

Following successful integration Austrian Lufthansa Cargo Management is confident for the future

Austrian Lufthansa Cargo GmbH has successfully passed the first 14 months since its establishment in July 2010. Managing Directors Hasso Schmidt and Mag. Franz Zöchbauer reported a great support among Austria’s forwarders in the interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung. According to their statements the enterprise had been able to slightly increase its market share in the first six months of 2011, in spite of fierce competition on the routes from Vienna to Asia. The Manager duo sees good opportunities for further growth in the coming years.

Austrian Lufthansa Cargo headquartered the Vienna Airport is in charge of marketing and sales of Lufthansa Cargo’s and Austrian Airlines’ air freight capacities in Austria. Also air freight handling at Austria’s airports, as well as operation and expansion of activities at the Vienna hub count among the tasks of the enterprise. Lufthansa Cargo is holding 74 per cent of the share capital, Austrian Airlines AG is holding 26 per cent. Austrian Lufthansa Cargo has currently 120 employees at locations at the airports Vienna, Linz, Graz and Salzburg.
