“Space-mission“ for the logistics service provider LSi (Munich)

Logistics service provider LSi advertises its express and project logistics activities with an extraordinary campaign

The LSi company, specialising in European express shipment of high quality, handling-intensive and time-critical goods as well as in sophisticated project logistics, is the focus of an extraordinary advertising campaign. In Sweden a space rocket was started for altitude research bearing the logo of the Munich-based logistics service provider LSi.

The background of this campaign is the longstanding cooperation of LSi and the DLR – Germany’s national research centre for aeronautics and space. The LSi team is internationally acting on behalf of different business units of DLR. They are regularly transporting technical project equipment and spare parts to the South and North poles as well as many other places between the Arctic and Antarctic. Their most important clients include the DLR department MORABA, which is in charge of mobile rocket launching sites.

"Euro launch, a cooperation between DLR MORABA and SSC Esrange, has offered us free advertising space on a rocket as a thank you for the many years of very good cooperation in European and global projects", says Reinhard Klausner, managing director LSi. The "LSi-rocket" was launched on the European rocket and balloon launch site Esrange of the European Space Agency (ESA), near the Swedish city of Kiruna – 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. Within this project, LSi transported two missiles from Oberpfaffenhofen to Kiruna. Kiruna is one of two European launch sites of MORABA. The second station is located in Andenes, Norway. Both towns are served regularly by LSi.

LSi is "logistics service individually" and was founded in the year 2000 by Reinhard Klausner. The company, based in Kirchheim near Munich, has 15 commercial employees at three locations, and through exclusive contracts disposes the vehicles of 30 subcontractors. Besides Munich, LSi maintains its own offices in Frankfurt/Main and Barcelona. The regional focus of the express service provider includes Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania and Bulgaria. The Eastern European countries become increasingly important in the product portfolio.
