Streck Transport takes over A.S. Speditions GmbH in Steinen

Acquisition of A.S. Speditions GmbH forwarding company strenghtens presence of Streck Transport in the country triangle Germany, Switzerland, France

 

The ownership of A.S. Speditions-GmbH in Steinen (Germany) changes retro effectively from 1 November 2010. Streck Transportges. mbH based in Lörrach becomes the new owner of the partner enterprise of the general cargo cooperative CargoLine. The owner of A.S., Günter Stammler, retires from active business due to private reasons.

“The takeover of A.S. gives us the opportunity to consolidate our presence in the country triangle Germany/France/Switzerland with respect to general cargo. At the same time A.S. customer profit from our experience in the fields of transport, contract logistics, air and ocean freight", Ingolf Heuring, Managing Director of Streck Transport, illuminates the motives for the company acquisition. His enterprise has been cooperating with CargoLine since early 2009.

The Streck Transport group comprises eight locations in Germany (Lörrach, Freiburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg, Stuttgart) and six in Switzerland (Basel/Möhlin, Embrach, Zurich/Kloten, Aclens, Bern, Luzern). In the year 2009 1,000 employees moved around 1.2 million consignments and generated a turnover at EUR 157 million. The corporate group, founding partner and associate of the cooperatives System Alliance and System Alliance Europe, operates more than 88,000 m² hall space with 71,000 pallet slots. Apart from European-wide land transport solutions the service range covers also air and sea freight forwarding as well as logistics services.
