TNT Express wins BioKryo contract
TNT Express has been awarded a contract from the German biotechnology company BioKryo to handle the international transport of high value biological samples to the company’s storage facility in Sulzbach.
A branch of the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering (IBMT), BioKyro specialises in the long-time storage of bio samples, such as stem cells and tissues, using cryotechnology (very low-temperature conservation). BioKryo keeps samples in a secure environment for future diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
To transport the samples safely, TNT will use its "Clinical Express" suite of services for the healthcare industry, including temperature-controlled packaging and dry shipper containers that keep the bio samples frozen during transportation.
