Vos Logistics dismisses 350 employees

Declining demand forces Vos Logistics to take further cost cutting

The Dutch company Vos Logistics is responding to the strongly declining demand for its services with layoffs and other cost cutting measures. In the Netherlands the enterprise cancelled contracts with 145 temporary workers. In France, Poland and Hungary 200 jobs will be cut. Some business segments and regions showed a collapse in turnover of more than 30 percent during the last few weeks, compared to the second quarter of the year 2008, as the Management wrote in a press release to explain the drastic action.

In the course of a reorganisation a few months ago, Vos Logistics consolidated its financial basis and reduced the fleet to 1,700 units. The structure of the organisation was changed as well, in order to be able to guarantee more flexible reactions.
