BLG Automobile showed good performance in 2008

Automotive handling in Bremerhaven expected to decrease in the current year

Despite the worsening economic situation in the automotive sector already in the third quarter 2008, BLG Logistics Group reached its handling record from 2007 of 2.03 million vehicles at the car terminal in Bremerhaven also last year. This was due to the handling plus of almost 10 percent achieved in the first six months, which gradually diminished from August to December 2008, as BLG Logistics Group stated in a press release.

According to an evaluation of the Management of the Bremen-based group a result of over 2 million vehicles is not to be reached in 2009. For the first quarter, a decrease of about 25 percent is expected. Starting with the second quarter, a gradual improvement could begin and intensify during the second half of the year thanks to an increasing demand for new cars.
