Change in ownership-structure of TT-Line

Ferry shipping company TT-Line to expand its market position with simplified shareholder structure

Since the start of the year 2013 Dr. Arend Oetker and Dr. Bernhard Termühlen are each holding a 50 per cent-stake in the TT-Line group. Oetker and Termühlen took over the previous holdings from the shipping company “Aug. Bolten Wm. Miller’s Nachfolger (GmbH & Co.) KG”. Moreover Oetker and Termühlen took over all shares of the holding “Trampschiffahrt GmbH & Co. KG“ from their associates. They had previously joined their commitment on TT-Line in “Trampschiffahrt”. Since 1 January 2013 Dr. Bernhard Termühlen has the function of the chairman of the advisory board of the companies of the TT group and of the Trampschiffahrt holding.

“Increasing their shares the entrepreneurs Oetker and Termühlen are making a clear commitment to stability and the development potential of TT-Line in difficult times for the shipping industry. In line with the simplification of the ownership structure they increase also their entrepreneurial influence, to expand the market leadership of the shipping company“, reads a TT-Line press release.

TT-Line headquartered in Lübeck-Travemünde operates a fleet of six modern ferries under German and Swedish flag, linking Germany and southern Sweden. The vessels carry about 600,000 passengers and 320,000 freight units per year, mainly trucks. The offer includes up to 14 departures per day between Travemünde, Rostock and Trelleborg. Thus the shipping company is the market leader in passenger and freight traffic between Germany and Sweden. TT-Line has more than 600 employees generating annual turnover of about EUR 140 million.
