Gebrüder Weiss: Sustainability with GRI seal of quality

Reporting according to GRI standards emphasises Gebrüder Weiss‘ cutting edge in terms of sustainability

The Gebrüder Weiss Group (about 4.500 emplyoees in 156 locations all over the world) does pioneer work concerning sustainability. They company with headquarters in Lauterach in Vorarlberg states that they are the first logistics service provider in Austria who has prepared their sustainability report according to the internationally recognised standard and was awarded the GRI seal of quality for it.

"We decided in favour of the GRI standards because we want to emphasise our pioneer role with regard to sustainability. Quality and transparency are essential aspects when putting together reports on sustainable entrepreneurial activities which we want to document with this report", Peter Waldenberger, sustainability representative with Gebrüder Weiss says. Last year about 1.400 companies worldwide wrote their sustainability reports on the basis of the GRI standards – and counting.

The report parameters of the non-profit organisation "Global Reporting Initiative" (GRI) are considered the internationally accepted standard for a transparent and measurable reporting on the topic of sustainability. A sustainability report based on the GRI quality standard has to meet a number of criteria, starting with the report structure to a detailled list of different key figures from different reporting areas.
