GLS Austria reports on growth in express division

Parcel service GLS Austria’s package of measures yields fruits
 

With quick and flexible handlings, targeted investments and a strict quality policy the parcel and express service GLS Austria battled against the crisis in 2009. In a press release the Management reports on a good development of exportation volumes. The express division was growing whereas the rest of this business segment shows a negative trend, they stated in the release.

In the past months GLS Austria equipped more depots with modern video surveillance systems. “The new securtiy technology contributes substantially to our reliable and safe parcel handling. It allows not only to trace every individual parcel – like until now – but also to document its trip through distribution centres with pictures“, explains Klaus Schädle, Managing Director Europe South.

GLS Austria is cintinuously investing into information and parcel handling technology to keep operating processes running smoothly. Moreover a new telecommunication system had been installed this summer. This provides faster connections to service staff for customers. According to the company reachability is 97 per cent.
