ScanWash facility at Rostock overseas port offers comprehensive cleaning service for buses, trailer trucks and transporters

Once the formalities were completed the ScanWash facility at Rostock overseas port was officially inaugurated on 17 May. The hall completes the service portfolio for utilisation vehicles. The operator ScanWash is a company of the ScanRo GmbH, specialising in trailer and swap bodies, being itself a 100%-subsidiary of the Scandlines shipping enterprise.

„Our expectations were exceeded. The positive response during the introduction stage lets us look forward to the future“,ScanRo managing director Detlef Vortanz said at the celebration. According to him the construction of a second hall to extend the first one is in the pipeline.

The range of services offered by ScanWash covers vehicle cleaning with a wash facility with three brushes as well as wash of trailers, buses and transporters in different washing modes. The service includes also collection and delivery of trailers, semi trailers and swap bodies that arrive without tractor units at the Port of Rostock. Scandlines new BorderShop is being built directly next to the washing facility and the ScanRo garage. A fuel station is being built on the area as well.

“ScanWash makes our port even more attractive. A modern TruckWash saves our time and we hope it attracts even more service providers to the overseas port“, says Dr. Ulrich Bauermeister, managing director of the Hafen-Entwicklungsgesellschaft Rostock.
