Apollo Forwarding in Adelaide strengthens the comapny’s own network of the Panalpina group in the Oceania region

The global transport and logistics group Panalpina announces the acquisition of its long-time partner, Apollo Forwarding in Adelaide, South Australia. The enterprise thereby confirms its commitment to further growth in the Oceania region. Panalpina has taken over Apollo Forwarding with immediate effect; all employees of Apollo Adelaide will remain with the company. The two companies have been close partners for over ten years. In this period Apollo Adelaide has acted as Panalpina’s agent in South Australia both locally and globally.

“The acquisition enables us to further enlarge our geographic coverage in Oceania and widens our customer base”, explains Karl Weyeneth, Chief Operating Officer of the Panalpina Group. Jörg Granzow, Area Managing Director of Panalpina Oceania, adds: “In addition to being a well established customs broker, Apollo Adelaide also provides international freight forwarding services, in-house customs clearance, distribution services as well as quarantine clearances and inspections.”

Apollo Adelaide brings a solid customer base in South Australia. While Panalpina will benefit from Apollo’s local know-how and customer relationships, the group will contribute its worldwide transport network, standardized IT applications, tailor-made customer solutions and global sales team to strengthen it’s partner’s service portfolio. “Together we will further develop our industry specific logistics solutions for local and global customers. In addition we will focus on the winery and automotive markets in South Australia”, elaborates Karl Weyeneth.
