ProLogis market entry in Austria in realisation

The first construction stage of the ProLogis Park in Himberg near Vienna will start operation at the end of January 2011

The market entry of the globally active provider of logistics real estate ProLogis in Austria is now being implemented. At the end of January 2011 the first construction state of the ProLogis Park in Himberg will be handed over their customer LGI Logistics Group International GmbH. The company is part of the Willi Betz group and will lease a warehouse with 10.000 sq. m. of roofed space and 10 loading gates for a period of seven years, complemented by about 300 sq. m. of office space. After completion, the ProLogis Park Himberg can provide about 70.000 sq. m. of prime logistics space and more than 3.000 sq. m. of office space. "Until the end of 2011 all rental agreements will have been signed . Overall completion of the facility will take place one year later", Sascha Petersmann, vice president and market officer South Germany/Austria/Switzerland of the ProLogis Germany Management GmbH, says in a press talk.

The site Himberg was carefully chosen by ProLogis. According to Petersmann the convenient location for the supply of the capital and the vicinity to Vienna International Airport were important factors just as the easy accessibility of the economic centres in the countries Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Slovenia.

ProLogis is a globally leading provider of logistics real estate with a warehousing space of 44 million sq. m. in 2.500 buildings in North America, Europe and Asia. The company with headquarters in Denver in the US state Colorado leases their real estate to more than 4.400 customers. Market entry in Europe took place in 1997 and since that time property projects with a warehousing and logistics space of 11,8 million sq. m. in 13 countries have been realised.
