Rhenus manages DAF Trucks’ spare parts distribution in CIS

DAF Trucks to profit from faster spare parts logistics with the Rhenus group in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan

The Rhenus group is supporting the truck manufacturer DAF Trucks providing solutions for the complete supply chain of spare parts in the CIS countries. Setting up warehouse stocks in the Sherrizone FEZ in the Moscow region at the moment represents an initial milestone in implementing the agreement, which was concluded at the turn of the year.

Truck spare parts will be distributed from there to DAF partner companies in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

“Following meticulous planning for the project, which also involved adapting IT structures, we’re ideally prepared to satisfy customer requirements,” says Olaf Metzger, Managing Director of OOO Revival Express, referring to the launch of the cooperation arrangement. “Working together with the Rhenus subsidiary Copex, we successfully completed the test consignment of truck spare parts for DAF Trucks to our warehouse in the Sherrizone FEZ in the Moscow region in June.”

As a result of successfully setting up warehouse stocks in June, OOO Revival Express will now be able to supply all the DAF authorised dealers in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan with the reserve supplies that they need much faster by truck and air freight. The Rhenus Group is not only organising the distribution of the spare parts in the three countries, but the Dutch subsidiary Copex Cargo also picks up the truck parts from the DAF Trucks factory in Eindhoven; in addition to supplying the goods to the warehouse near Moscow, the Rhenus group also completes documentation and handles the customs formalities through OOO Rhenus Customs Broker.

“Because the Russian government has moved customs operations to the country’s outer borders, the Rhenus customs and logistics terminal, which was opened in Krasnaya Gorka not far from Smolensk last month, will play an important role in the future shape of supply chains for our customers. We’ll make use of the cross-docking process for our customer DAF Trucks too in order to distribute the spare parts to the authorised dealers without having to ship them the extra kilometres via the warehouse in the Moscow region,” says Olaf Metzger.
