Roman Stiftner will remain President of Austrian logistics association BVL

Roman Stiftner was unanimously re-elected as President of the Austrian logistics association BVL Austria, during their 2019 annual meeting in the Port of Vienna. In early June, he was elected to the executive branch of the European Logistics Association (ELA) in Brussels, where he represents the interests of the Austrian logistics sectors in his position as Vice President.

In his opening speech, Roman Stiftner addressed five theses on logistics and the global supply chain. “Sustainability and digitisation as individual topics and also in close contexts will be the most challenging tasks and priorities in logistics in the coming years,” he said.

For the first time, a female Vice President of BVL Austria was elected: Martina Riedl-Reitenreif, Hoerbiger Wien. Michael Zimmermann, Zimmermann Verpackungen Import Export, was won for the volunteer work in the Committee.

Also the Management Board was extended: Seven personalities will be involved in the activities of the Global Supply Chain Community. The previous officials were also unanimously confirmed in their functions.

“With the enlarged Committee and Board, BVL Austria is perfectly positioned for the future. We are particularly proud of our new female power on the board. The family link to Germany as the most important economic partner of Austria, will still be Thomas Wimmer, CEO of BVL Germany,” says BVL Austria’s Managing Director Wolfgang Kubesch.
