SETG has been active in rail logistics for 10 years

Strong demand for round timber ex Eastern-/Southeastern Europe in Austria and Germany prooves to be driving force behind SETG growth:

SETG – Salzburger Eisenbahn Transportlogistik GmbH, celebrated their 10-year anniversary together with 170 customers, suppliers and business partners on 3 November. As special provider of logistics concepts in rail cargo traffic, the company with headquarters in Salzburg offers customised solutions for clients in the areas timber, paper, cellulose, chemicals, steel and vehicles in Europe. Service concepts for single waggons and waggon groups are marketed unter den name EccoCargo. Block-train concepts are referred to as EccoShuttle.

SETG presently has 18 locomotives for their own traction operations. Rail transports in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania are based on partnerships with privately operated railway companies. Long-term leased rail waggons make up 270 units of different types.

The "birthday child" is in charge of the transport of about 2,5 million tons of goods in 2011. In an interview with the Österreichische Verkehrszeitung, general manager Gunther Pitterka refers to a strong increase in transport volumes as a result of the strong demand Austrian and German manufacturing plants and heating plants have for round timber imports ex the countries in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The SETG team presently comprises 17 employees. The annual turnover will exceed the 26 million Euro mark in 2011.
